The Zetex 700 series bipolar arrays (now part of Diodes Inc.) offer a very low cost entry into custom ICs. As there is only a single metallisation layer required the NRE is very low and the turn-round time for prototype devices is very quick. With a range of devices from something small enough to fit in a SOT23 package to something large enough to replace a couple of dozen opamps, there is considerable flexibility to provide an innovative, low cost design solution either for improved product security, size or cost.
The devices are economical at low volumes, even as low as 1000 parts. In conjunction with an associate company, Key Design can ensure the supply of fully tested, packaged parts. While the arrays are mostly suited to analogue circuitry, limited digital logic can be added. Another option is to pair an analogue array with a small, low cost microcontroller. This can even be packaged with the analogue array for high volume applications resulting in a single, mixed signal product.
Circuits with quiescent current below 1µA running, even lower with shutdown. Input bias current cancellation can be used to reduce input bias current to below 500pA.
