Design

The range of design skills offered are:

  • analogue [analog] ASIC design - CMOS 0.18µm, 0.35µm, 0.8µm, 3µm, Silicon on Insulator (SOI) and bipolar. Full custom and semi-custom
  • analogue signal processing - amplification, filtering, waveform shaping, pulse counting, peak and peak to peak amplitude detection from sub-Hz up to over 1GHz
  • high speed analogue [analog] design - RF frequencies for analogue circuits in non-RF systems
  • analogue to digital (ADC) and digital to analogue (DAC) conversion of video, audio and other signals, either for digital signal processing or digital transmission of data
  • PIN & avalanche photodiode (APD) amplifiers (transimpedance amplifiers) for ultra-violet (UV), the visible spectrum, 905nm, 1300nm and 1500nm wavelengths, for communications and instrumentation (such as fluoroscopy), measure light down to pW with bandwidths from below 1Hz  to above 1GHz depending on the application
  • continuous wave (CW) and pulsed laser drivers - eye safe Class I & II, and also Class III - visible and infra-red
  • CCD and CMOS monochrome and colour camera design, analogue or digital
  • charge amplifiers e.g for hydrophones, piezo sensors and detectors
  • low voltage and current amplification and measurement: low noise pA and nV amplifiers
  • CPLD, FPGA, EPLD design using a variety of hardware description languages (HDL)
  • microprocessor software
  • ultrasonic power drivers
  • design using discrete devices, opamps or custom silicon (ASICs) depending on the performance and cost requirements.
